Once, during a party in college, someone put plastic-handled scissors in our oven and turned it on. I can still conjure up the smell. I hope your house airs out better.
Oh man that stinks! I'm so sorry! I accidentally put my silicone piping bag on a hot burner the other day. Gave it a nice silicone coating. Grr. I agree with Kim, hope it airs out okay.
LOL, been there too! 2 days in our new place in Burma.... I used the plastic lid of my pyrex , lined with paper (the unpacking from the move paper) to dry our chili peppers.... moved them out of the way - into a safe place - the oven. The next day, preheatd the oven and it actually caught on fire - we had just moved in , had no idea if/where the fire extingusher was - hubby to the rescue before the house burnt down, and ughhhh the smell..... hope your house isn't too stinky!
Thanks for sharing your stories. Luckily I caught it before it caught on fire and before the smell got too bad. It was pretty easy to clean up too. It just sort of peeled off, and we opened the back doors to air out the house.
