When I was nine, my parents took me on a tour of Graceland. I don't remember much about it, except that Elvis had devoted a basement room in his house to television. It was there that he would sit and watch three televisions at once. At the time, I was both fascinated and baffled by why someone would want to watch three different shows at once.
Then picture in picture was invented for television sets, and guys everywhere lined up to upgrade. No more pesky switching back and forth between sporting events. Now they could watch two at a time. Women everywhere were annoyed.
We do not have the picture in picture function for our TV, but what we do have is a very creative four year old, who sometimes gets bored with Free Willy and needs a little Toy Story 2 to keep him engaged.
For the record, I vetoed this arrangement-- after I took pictures and marveled at his ingenuity.
You never know. He just might grow up to be the king.
Go Benjy!
ReplyDeleteIt is a guy think - I never understood why they can't be happy watching one thing at a time...
ReplyDeleteYou have to admire the creativity.
