We had a good week. It was so good, in fact, that it deserves a Top 10.
10. We bought a new ice cream maker, and Chris has been experimenting with new flavors all week. Who cares if it's low fat and sugar free. It's ice cream! Sort of.
9. I lost five pounds despite eating the ice cream. (Four of these I had gained during my father-in-law's whirlwind visit/eating tour of Tijuana. One delicious week to put it on. Two torturous calorie deprived weeks to take it off.)
8. An alien invaded. For real. He's hogging the remote and forcing us to watch SyFy. Which means we are not, I repeat NOT, watching Home Alone 2.
7. Strawberry ice cream.
5. Andrew wooed a younger woman (14 months) and kissed her repeatedly through a screen door-- until I pulled out the camera. It was so romantic. And dirty. It took more than one wet wipe to clean up his face after.
4. Chris got to hob nob with (i.e. offer peanuts and chips to) some really important people from the State Department, like fellow Saluki alumnae Janice Jacobs. Yep. That's how he rolls.
3. Coffee ice cream.
2. Benjy did not make the soccer team. Yes, you read that right. No extra practices that would make him thirsty, and no Saturday games that would make him super thirsty.
1. Jacob got a 9 out of 10 on his Spanish book report. We are all very proud of ourselves.
Awesome job, Jacob! But I (honestly) would have put coffee ice cream as #1. ;P
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. He was bummed he didn't get a 10 after all the work it took to read the book and do the report, but Chris and I were overjoyed with his 9. The only thing better than that would have been real (and not diet) coffee ice cream.
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I too think coffee ice cream should had ranked higher even if it is diet, also we need recipes for ice cream you can eat and still lose weight.
ReplyDeleteWe just modified the Cuisinart recipes it came with to use Splenda instead of sugar and FF 1/2 and 1/2 instead of heavy cream. The consistency is different, but it beats no sweet treat, and it is fairly easy to make--that is, if you have access to those products.
