Every night before the boys go to bed, I use the scratch and sniff test to check for brushed teeth. You know, I scratch the teeth in front to see if there's any crud on them and sniff the boys' breath to see if it's clean. It's a highly effective method, but, apparently, Chris has a better one.
Last night, Chris was rounding up the older two boys for bed while I was wrestling the littlest one. He sent them to brush their teeth and put on their pajamas. Two minutes later, one of them came bounding down the stairs.
"Did you brush your teeth?" Chris asked.
"Yes," he said, a bit too eagerly.
Twice more Chris asked the question, and twice more the boy said yes. Finally, Chris looked at the sheepish boy in front of him and said, "I know you didn't brush your teeth. Did you brush them?"
"No," admitted the boy.
"Do you know what I do all day?" Chris asked. "I listen to people's stories all day long and decide whether or not they're lying to me. I can tell when someone is lying. I can tell when you're lying."
The boy looked Chris straight in the eyes and said, "Well, I guess it was good practice for you then."
| We can't get this guy to stop brushing his teeth. In fact, that's not even his toothbrush. |

So cool! You've got an amazing blog... quick question: my husband always mentioned one of his A-100 classmates, whose wife had a pretty funny blog... I'm starting to suspect it was you! Great reading, here... and, to answer my curiosity, is your husband from the 151st? Thanks and cheers from Recife, Brazil.
ReplyDeleteYet again, you stroke a gentle balance between funny and sweet. I along with so many others are addicted to your blog!
