It has come to my attention, thanks to my mom and various friends that shall remain nameless (but whose names rhyme with "his" and "leather," ahem, you know who you are), that I have been neglecting my blog and Facebook account. Why, you may ask, would I commit such a serious offense? Well, I've been busy.
The day before Chris left town to attend his mother's funeral, our HHE (household effects, i.e. all our stuff that had been in storage for the past year) arrived. Then, the next day while I was practicing at single-parenting, our UAB (unaccompanied air baggage, i.e. all our stuff that we thought we'd get within a week or two) arrived. So, to say the least, I've been up to my eyeballs in boxes. And as much as the boys have tried to help by unpacking all their toys in every room of the house, including my bathroom, I am still unpacking.
Then there was the week of fevers. Both Benjy and Andrew decided that the best time for them to get sick would be while Chris was out of town. I've informed them that from now on, they must check with me to see if it's a good time before running any high fevers. We'll see how that goes. I was able to give Benjy prednisone to eliminate his unexplained fever (He has PFAPA. Google it, if you're curious), and he recovered within a couple of days. Andrew, on the other hand, ran a fever for six days, during which time we were quarantined at home, and during which time I heard at least 203 times that Benjy was feeling better and wanted to go somewhere. And if you haven't guessed, it's really hard to blog while holding a baby, especially one that wants to help you type. I know, excuses, excuses.
I have stories to tell (like how I locked myself out of the house or how I got trapped on the other side of the border), and I promise to type them out soon. Until then, aren't my boys the cutest?
*These pictures were taken in Tijuana at an inflatable playground that only costs $50 pesos per kid. That's like $3.85 U.S. AWE-some.
That playground looks so cool! Glad your boys are better. What a ride. Sorry you had to deal with boxes and fevers on your own. Sounds like wild times. Good luck with everything.
