Benjy recently transitioned from using third person grammar exclusively to experimenting with first person. Basically, instead of "Benjy want juice," he says "Me want juice."
In an attempt to teach him to say I instead of me and also be polite, Chris and I always reply to this declaration with, "May I have some juice please." He's starting to catch on, but with one little hiccup.
Now anytime we correct his me's with I's (Me like that. Me want that.), he says "May I want some juice please." We think this is hilarious.
Over and over again I say "May I have some juice," placing special emphasis on the "have." He parrots back, "May I want some juice please," emphasizing the "I." His stubbornness knows no bounds, but he's just so cute.
