The dog escaped the backyard twice this morning while I was trying to
load the kids in the car to take Benjy to school. On his third jail
break, I gave up and put him in the car with me. He scratched Benjy and
spilled Andrew's juice.
I dropped Benjy at school and was pulling into my driveway when my cell phone rang. It was his school. He wasn't supposed to be there for two more hours.
My low fuel light came on, and I didn't have any cash. I decided to live dangerously rather than find an ATM with two kids and a dog in tow.
I took Benjy back to school at the proper time for his special event and
realized that I'd forgotten my camera. I took this fuzzy picture
with my cell phone. I had lunch with a friend and a child that shall remain nameless lost his mind. I'm talking full on screaming, heel-digging, "I'm not going to do what you tell me to" battle of the wills at her front door. Luckily I won, but we excused ourselves shortly thereafter. We probably won't be invited back.
Jacob lost the spelling bee and cried that he would never get a Wii. I'd bribed him with money for a first place win. He's been saving up for a Wii and hating school, so I thought my plan was brilliant--until it ended in sobs.
I put all the kids to bed to reset their attitudes. Andrew woke up with a fever.
I forced yucky prednisolone down Andrew's throat while Jacob held his arms and then he threw it up on me. Then he told me fifty-seven times "Medicine taste bad." I just hope enough stayed in him to work.
To top it all off, this is what's happening in my backyard.

It was one of those terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days with a cement truck thrown in for good measure. I think I'll put this day to bed. Good riddance.
I hate days like that! I will keep my fingers crossed that today goes much better for you!
ReplyDeleteI would say you used up enough bad day elements in just twelve hours that for the next several weeks at least you deserve smooth sailing. Thank goodness for bedtime and letting it all just go.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Definitely time for a restart. I hope today is a better one.
ReplyDeletethat's what beers for, yo
